Privacy Policy

ModifyPDF is built so that your documents stay with you. This page explains exactly what the site does and does not collect.

Your documents

Every tool processes files inside your browser, on your own device. Your PDFs, images and other documents are never uploaded to our servers or to anyone else's, and we cannot see them.

Anonymous usage statistics

On the live site we use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views, which tools are used and whether a run succeeded, and how long a page stayed open. This tells us which tools people rely on and which ones need work.

Nothing about your documents is included: no file names, sizes, page counts or contents. No cookies are set, and visitors are counted with an anonymous identifier that the platform resets every day. These counts are only sent when you leave a page or switch tabs, never while you are working on a document.

Translation models

The Translate PDF tool runs a translation model in your browser. The first time you translate between two languages, the model files are downloaded from the Bergamot translation project's public storage (bergamot.s3.amazonaws.com). Only the model files are requested — the text of your document is never sent. As with any web request, that server can see your IP address.

Data stored on your device

The site keeps a few things in your browser: your appearance setting, and cached copies of pages and translation models so it loads faster and works offline. This stays on your device, and you can clear it at any time from your browser settings.

Hosting

ModifyPDF is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel receives standard request information, such as your IP address and browser type, when pages are loaded.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
